Why Buy Local Honey?

Local honey is not only delicious but may also offer health benefits. Many people believe that consuming local honey can help with seasonal allergies, as it contains small amounts of local pollen.

Our honey is:

  • Pure and natural - No additives, just pure honey
  • Locally produced - From hives in Dover and the surrounding areas
  • Sustainably harvested - Our beekeepers follow best practices for bee welfare
  • Supporting local - Your purchase supports local beekeepers and helps maintain bee populations

Our Honey

The flavour and colour of honey varies depending on the flowers the bees have visited. Kent's diverse landscape means our honey can range from light and delicate to rich and robust.

Common varieties from our area include spring blossom honey, summer wildflower honey, and late-season ivy honey. Each has its own unique character and taste.

How to Buy Local Honey

Many of our members sell honey directly to the public. Honey is typically available from late summer through to the following spring, depending on the harvest.

To find a local beekeeper selling honey in your area, please contact us and we'll be happy to put you in touch with members who have honey available for sale.

Honey at Our Events

You can also purchase honey at our events throughout the year, including:

  • Our monthly meetings
  • Local farmers' markets and community events

Storing Your Honey

Honey will keep indefinitely if stored properly. Keep it in a sealed container at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.

If your honey crystallizes (becomes solid), this is completely natural. Simply place the jar in warm water and the honey will return to its liquid state.
