Insurance update

The BBKA insurance covers members in the following categories:

• Honorary
• Registered
• Partner
• Junior
• Direct

It is advisable that members read all the documents in /membership to satisfy themselves that they have the right cover for the activities they are involved in. This is particularly pertinent when it comes to sale of products from the hive, swarm collection and the total number of hives covered.

In relation to YLH related activities a member in one of the above categories would be covered for ‘advising DEFRA and trapping, freezing and identification of Asian hornets. The latest information on what are deemed safe practices so would be covered by the insurance can be found on BBKA Members hub in the folder Yellow legged Hornet. I have attached a copy of the latest guidance on monitoring, but there are other interesting documents as well.
